I love a good computer-based mystery as much as the next guy, but c'mon... several times a day Windows (on my Windows laptop, but the Ubuntu command for a subject line amused me) suddenly says "Oh hey you are no longer in range of your home network! There are other networks available, do you want to connect to one of those?"

I have not moved. Every other computer and/or device on our network is connecting just fine. But I go along with it, I say "Oh nooooo! Okay Windows, please show me all those other networks you're talking about!"

It brings up a list of the available networks - our wireless printer, our Roku, the neighbors on either side of us with their wifi... but not my home network.

And then they all disappear after about 30 seconds, all at once.

And windows says "I'm sorry, I lied. There are no networks available. I am a dirty liar :("

So I then uninstall/reinstall the NIC, that works most of the time, or I if that doesn't work then I reboot the laptop and it's just fine.

WHAT. THE. HELL???

Drivers are as updated as updated can be, verified by both Windows Hardware Manger and by QUalcomm website... so what gives?
