006 - Game Swap Technicalities
Jan. 4th, 2016 12:10 pmI just posted something that I wrote last night re: Board Games, and it made me want to explore the idea of a Board Game Swap Meet more thoroughly...
First, you would have to register at the Main Gate - What games did you bring, have these games verified by our staff (open each box), get signed off and assigned a table where you can set up your games.
Each game should have a tag on it with two numbers and a code; Retail Value, Asking Value and OBO/FIRM indicator. So you've got your copy of Nexus Ops, which has a retail value of $45 (info available via Boardgamegeek.com), you hope to get $30 worth of equivalent trade value out of it, but you'll also accept other offers. This way, somebody could either offer you $30 cash for it, or they could maybe offer to trade you two different editions of Munchkin for it. Make a deal!
I think we would need three rooms to do this in; Registration Room, Trading Room and then a great big room of tables for open gaming.
I think that local shops would probably want to get in on this as well, plenty of the FLGS around here will deal in used games...
Is this a good idea or a bad one?
