Is there a word for when people explain why they like something by insulting things that are not the thing they like?

EXAMPLE 1: Why do I like Coke? Because Pepsi is just too sweet.

EXAMPLE 2: I'm voting for Hillary because Trump is just THE WORST.

EXAMPLE 3: I'll wait for the movie because reading the book would just take too long and besides I really hate to read.

EXAMPLE 4: I like Reality TV programs because everything else on TV is crap anyways.

Got it? Like, you don't actually like the things you like, you just hate them less than you hate all the other things. Expressing your preference for one thing by pointing out the flaws of another.

There's GOT to be a single word for that, right?

If there isn't, there should be. Any Germans around to ask? They can come up with some of the best words for things like this.

If there isn't a word yet, I would like to suggest "Negappreciation". Some folks on Facebook suggested "Sour Grapes", but that's more spiteful than what I'm looking for. Sour Grapes, to me, is "Why do I like Coke? Because F*CK PEPSI, that's why!" What I'm looking for is almost apologetic?
