First signs of trouble...

captain_slinkyShe said the word "Comic Book" tonight, as though it were a turd that someone had slipped in to her mouth. It rolled out in to our conversation with an audible "plop" and just sat there, stinking. Because I always jokingly say that I would leave her before I gave up my collection, I think she doesn't really know how much it bothered me to hear her say it that way. And the look on her face as she said it! Yes, definately a turd-in-mouth face.
This, of course, made me quietly think of what the hell i am doing. I proposed to this woman! This woman who is as opposite to me as a person could ever get! Her list of "Things that are just stupid" matches up almost perfectly with my list of "Things that make life worth living"! British humor, Sci-Fi, super heroes, classic television... Ooh! And she can't watch a movie! Anybody who knows me knows that I believe that, in order to watch a movie, you must sit down and watch the movie. You can have a snack with you if you wish, but that is all. She, on the other hand, CAN NOT watch a movie by itself. She has to either talk on the phone, clean the living room, do arts-n-crafts, or SOMETHING while the movie is on. Adn then, half way through the movie, she'll just get up and walk away! Then she'll come back and ask me questions about what she missed. Ooh, that ticks me off! PENNY used to pull that stuff! Pissed me off then, pisses me off now (though I try not to show it.
But then I thought about the things I like about her. The main thing is that she understand me like no one else has ever understood me. it's downright eerie! But secondly, she is so willing to try and be a part of my world. She sits through my Classic TV shows and enjoys them on the first level (I'll post som day about the three levels of Sit-Com enjoyment). She reads my comic books (loves Transmetropolitan and anything else by Ellis). Rather than be miserable through my Brittish humor, she finds other stuff to do. And so far, pretty much every movie we have seen in the theaters has been either sci-fi or Fantasy, and she's loved every single one of them.
She is doing so much changing for me... and has not asked me to change myself at all! Have I changed any?
