When is an artifact not an artifact?
Apr. 18th, 2004 10:11 pmCross-posted, sorry if you're seeing this many many many times on your friends list.
Okay, here are the cards in question:
Neurok Transmuter: Blue 2/2 Creature - Human Wizard. One blue mana: Target creature becomes an artifact in addition to it's other types until end of turn (there's other stuff on the card too, but that's the part we're concerned with)
Domineer: Enchant Artifact Creature. You control enchanted artifact creature.
So! If I use the Neurok Transmuter to make a creature in to an *artifact* creature till the end of the turn, then enchant it with Domineer, what happens at the beginning of the next turn's upkeep? Said creature is no longer an artifact creature, so does the Domineer just go away and the creature just goes back to the original controller? Or does the Domineer stay in play because when it was *cast* it was a valid target?
Our current in-house ruling is that the Domineer stays in effect unless it is physically disenchanted or destroyed. However, we would appreciate input from any and/or every one who would like to tap two cents: Put a 1/1 Opinion Token in to play.
