Birthday Madness

captain_slinkyIt can now come to an end; the Birthday Festivities (which ran from Friday the 7th till just last night) are done. The crescendo being a gathering at P&C's (with Z&J) for game, grub & gifts.
So all in all, what did I get (because that's what it all boils down to)? This list includes all of the gifts that Crystal and I ought for ourselves as sort of "combo" B-Day/Anniversarry presents (Anniversarry May 5, My B-Day May 8, her B-Day May 14... a solid week of festivities!)

-The Zombie Survival Guide, an incredibly well researched and thought-out REALISTIC and SERIOUS guide to help in case of a Zombie attack. Historical references, scientific definitions... this book is the single most usefull book I have ever owned!
-The Complete PEanuts Vol. 1: 1950 to 1952 is just incredible. Fantagraphics Books is making an entire library of hardbound, high-quality, COMPLETE and CHRONOLOGICAL collection of the works of Charles M. Schultz. The most influential comic strip of all time, it's realy a thing of beauty and an incredibly important book (imho) to own. When you hold it in your hands you just get a feeling that THIS is the respect that this cartoonist deserved.
-Boxes and boxes of cooking sauces from my Dad, who knows that I love to cook.
-A bag full of comic books, most importantly the Pacific Comics "Groo The Wanderer Special #1", the fairly rare "missing" issue of the entire Groo saga by Sergio Aragones.
-A box of Onslaught (Magic The Gathering) Boosters, because we are Magic Freaks.
-A box of Dark Steel (Magic The Gathering) Boosters, because we are Magic Freaks.
-Gilmore Girls: Season One on DVD, because we really didn't have a choice in the matter because Gilmore Girls owns our asses.
-Classic Comedy DVD featuring Abbot & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, and W.C. Fields... ecause my Schmoopie wanted me to have something to open *on* my Birthday :)
