A good tip to remember this summer while going to Garage Sales! If you plan on buying something/anything with a price tag over $10, be sure to gather up several smaller items as well that really interest you, as they will aid you in your bargaining.
CASE IN POINT:
Today at a Garage Sale, I found THIS ITEM (Crystal, baby, unless you want to spoil the suprise don't you dare click there) priced at $15. Actually,t hey had several of them and I am contemplating going back there tomorrow for more. Anyway, they *also* had a bunch of boxes ful of unsorted and unpriced toys, in which I found several vintage Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Transformers, GI Joe and Thunder Cats toys. I casually filled a box with what was easily $10 worth of toys even at standard garage sale prices, and then proceeded to make a big fuss over the $15 item.
In the end, I paid $8 for the plate and made them throw in the box of toys for free!
