The Mother-In-Law is gone, time to plan for the next MYSTIC ORDER OF THE SACRED SLINKY GAME NIGHT!

BTW, if you can read this? You're invited... even all you people I recently added who have never met me face-to-face :) And if you're on my FaceBook Friends Page you'll get an official E-Vite as soon as we've narrowed down a specific date!

So when should we do this? Should we do it this COMING Saturday (9/12), or NEXT Saturday (9/19)? Please cast your votes NOW in the comments!

So what exactly *is* the Mystic order of The Sacred Slinky Game Night? It's a kid-friendly environment for us adults to get together and game while the kids destroy my daughter's bedroom, the living room, and our yard. Always takes place on a Saturday, starting as early as 3pm and going on till everybody is gamed-out or I fall asleep.

Light amounts of booze are OK, no drugs... smoking outside if you need to... bring eats or drinks, all I supply is something basic (a big pot of Chili, some grilled burgers, etc) and all the delicious King County Tap Water you can drink.

So what games are we talking about here? In theory, we gather to play Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition. Unfortunately, that's only ever happened *THREE TIMES* since the founding of the Game Night. Usually we play a large variety of "Adult" games such as Carcassone, Ticket To Ride, Munchkin, Apples To Apples, Fluxx and whatever else anybody wants to bring.... home-brewed games are encouraged :) OOH! And I found my copy of "ZOMBIES!", so we'll probably play that as well this time around! I love me some Zombies :)

Kids at our game night range from 3 (my daughter) to 15 or so... mostly younger kids, though. But for the most part they are out of sight and out of mind as we play our games :)

SO! Which Saturday should we do it?

I love Christmas! Even though I am about as far away from being a Christian as one could possibly be without being entirely Agnostic, but when it comes to Christmas I'm all about the entire thing! From Santa to Presents, to Christmas Carols to The Lil' Baby Jesus in the manger... and thing is, I'm not alone. There are A LOT of folks out there who don't believe in Christ but love Christmas. It's gotta be hard for the Christians to see us like this.

It's like Batman.

I've been a hard-core comic book lover for my entire life. I live, eat and breathe comic books. If a fast food joint has a super hero in their kids meal, I eat at that restaurant EXCLUSIVELY for as long as that promotion lasts. Love, love, LOVE the comic books!!! And as a result, a large chunk of society shuns me and brands me as a "Nerd". But I don't care; they just don't understand the greatness of Comic Books! They have no idea what they're missing! I try to convert friends and family in to comic book readers all the time, but it rarely works.

So then a movie like "Batman Begins and/or The Dark Knight hits theaters, and suddenly EVERYBODY is a huge Batman/Comic Book fan for like a *month*. And during that time I'm all "YES! THIS! This is what I love! Don't you see it? Isn't it AWESOME?!?! Don't you want to feel this way ALL THE TIME?"

Then the movie leaves theaters and everybody goes back to not even caring about comic books, and I am left bewildered.

Yup... for The Christians, Christmas has got to be a lot like Batman.
