Another Molly Milestone!
Apr. 26th, 2011 10:59 pmToday was the first time Molly has ever *asked* to go in to the Comic Book Store with me! Usually when we go to a comic book store she asks if she can just wait in the car with Mommy, because she knows that INSIDE the comic book shop I'll be full of "Quieter, honey" and "No no don't bend those sweetie" and "We look with our EYES not our HANDS dear" comments for her. This time I was prepared to just leave her in the car with her mother since I was just dropping in to see if they had IDW's "Angel: After The Fall" issue #14, but she very quietly and politely asked "Daddy can I please go in to the comic book store with you?"
She also picked out a comic book and "read" it to me on our drive home, describing the story based on what pictures she saw and laughing heartilly the whole time. Then she let me read the WHOLE COMIC BOOK to her at bed time, instead of what had usually happened in the past (I start reading, she gets bored a few pages in and asks if we can have a different story). She was enthralled with the whole book, cover to cover!
It was Boom! Studios "Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers" issue #5 (technically published by their All Ages imprint, "Kaboom Comics").
I think it may have been the best comic book I've ever read in my entire life :)
