Due to the extreme generosity of a friend, I was able to go to PAX PRIME for the first time ever last night! It was mush more awesome and fun than I ever expected it would be, especially considering that I don't actually play any video games if I can help it. But WOW it was awesome!
HOWEVER... if I have to choose between PAX PRIME or ECCC as for which one will be the one "Big" convention I go to each year, ECCC will always win even though it's a bit less... huge. But that's only because I have a loyalty and love for comic books and sci-fi that supersedes any admiration or love I may have fore The Gaming Industry.
But WOW was that great! Gaming till 1am! Finally learned how to play Settlers of Catan (and now I want the Star Trek edition of the game REAL BAD)! Got lots of free stuff! Bumped in to (literally) Morgan Webb of G4TV (she was very forgiving about it)! Saw SO MANY GAMES that I want to buy and play!
Video Games, though... I was kind of shocked by. They'd have these HUGE, MILLION-DOLLAR set-ups for people to play their awesome new games on and that was great BUT no body working the booth could answer any simple questions!
What type of system requirements will I need to play this game at home? "Uhhhhh... y'know, that's a good question! Let me ask someone! ...Hmmmm... seems that nobody here knows. Sorry!"
Who did the character designs for this game (regarding a game that was very obviously based off of Alex Ross artwork), anyone famous or a name that I might recognize? "The characters were designed by our Development Team!" Who are they? "Uhm... y'know, that's an excellent question! Let me get back to you on that!"
