My new position in the Glean is time consuming on Sundays. I have to get up early, drive to two different Starbucks (Starbucki?), inventory their donations, drive the donations to the main Glean location, call the excess controller to report how much stuff we got from each Starbucks location, Glean for myself, drive home, clean out the tubs that Starbucks gave us the donations in, drive the tubs back to each of the Starbucks locations. It takes till NOON to accomplish all this stuff - 3 and-a-half hours!

Comparatively, let's see... my old position I had to get there at 11:30, wait till 12:30, pack up and load all the excess in to my van, take MY glean stuff home, stop by Betty's house so she could get some bread, drive to Bothell, unload... old job took 2 hours at the most each week, and it was in the middle of a weekday.

Plus, I get no Karmic Afterglow from this job. Before, i was delivering baked goods to the elderly! Now I'm just taking day-old stuff away from Starbucks.

We'll see how long this lasts...

The myth of The Modern Age Collectible Comic is officially dead; pulled a black-bag Superman #75 ("The Death Of Superman") out of the quarter bin at Half Price Books today. I'm now positive that nothing made after 1986 will ever be worth anything, ever. All you "Investment" "Collectors" can go ahead and donate that box full of Valiant and Image #1 issues to your local Goodwill, reclaim a few feet of storage space and maybe a little dignity.

On the PLUS SIDE, for those of us who like to READ comics in our collection and collect them because we actually LIKE them, this is EXCELLENT NEWS! I've pulled nearly a complete run of the new "Jonah Hex" comic from the ten-for-a-dollar bins! Just waiting till I have the entire pre-DCU52 issues before I start reading... I *may* have to pay up to a dollar per missing issue though :(
