HOORAY FOR UPWARD MOOD SWINGS!!! And I have the fine folks at Cards Against Humanity to thank for it :)
Remember how I submitted my game "Reaper's Bridge" to their indie game competition a few months back? Well I just got a very nice rejection e-mail from them. It was a bit form-letterish, sure, but it was also worded so encouragingly that it inspired me to write back a Thank-You note, even if it would be eaten by some mailer daemon syntax do not reply robot.
I thanked them for the opportunity, I thanked them for inspiring me to keep working on the game, I thanked them for the air of excitement that they have created around independent game creation. I AM PUMPED TO WORK ON MY GAMES AGAIN!!!
And then I hit send, fully expecting the "Undeliverable" message to hit my mailbox instantly.
Minutes passed, and then I received an e-mail from Jenn at Cards Against Humanity thanking me for my kind words, and explaining that even though they had used a robot to deliver the rejection letters, they try to read each and every message they receive.
I'm overwhelmed with this warm, glowing feeling that stems from the knowledge that somebody out there is listening :)
Nothing can get me down right now! I'm full of "Haters gonna hate" bravado, and I'm ready to take the world by storm with my ideas once again! I HAVE A PLAN! I HAVE GOALS! I HAVE A FUTURE!!!
