195 - Star Wars Experiment Update
Nov. 9th, 2015 08:14 amThe experiment of exposing my daughter to Star Wars through the animated Clone Wars TV series continues. Jar Jar Binks is a funny hero, Anakin Skywalker is the ultimate Good Guy, and Clones are... problematic. Oh, and the relationship between Padme and Anakin? As Molly's main Teenage Influence, Sophie, would say, she "Ships" them :)
This is my first time watching the series, and I'm mightily impressed with how they pulled this off! Such a good show with some really dark things going on. I can't imagine a show like this having gotten made without the Star Wars name on it.
How would you even PITCH such a thing?
It's like Feudal Japan fighting against Nazis. Only instead of regular soldiers, the Good Guys use Vietnam-era US Soldiers and the bad guys use robots.
I think this is what a Heroscape cartoon would have looked like :)
