The right place at the right time
Feb. 20th, 2002 01:06 amWe had tickets to go see a free advance screening of Queen Of The Damned" tonight, courtesy of local radio station 107.7 The End. I've been to a lot of these free screenings before, and NEVER seen it as packed as it was tonight. The movie itself was pretty darned good... it was much more "LeStat" that that Tom Cruise monstrosity of a few years ago, and as more than one person commented "It was pretty".
Crystal and I just happened to get seated next to a girl named Brie, and I (being the social butterfly I am) struck up a conversation based on her choice of reading material (MythConceptions, by Robert Aspirin). One thing lead to another, and soon I had found out (a) where to go to FINALLY find a D&D campaign that could use a good Cleric and a handy Swordswoman (been looking for a campaign for sooooo long), and (b) that she had friends who were getting her and her date in to see The Roayal Tenenbaums for free at The Neptune Theater in the U-District! I had but to mention that we had not seen that movie but wanted to, and we were in. How sweet!
We also got free posters for Queen of the Damned... but man, what a good night!
