captain_slinky | Bad-Ass Zombie Killa Mo-Fo

For those of you who know nothing about The Walking Dead (the greatest ongoing comic book zombie story EVAR) here's the background in a nut shell:

George Romero "Night Of THe Living Dead" type of zombie plague, where all of a sudden all the recently dead people started coming back to life and eating human flesh. Mindless, shambling creatures without the intelligence to even use simple tools. A bite from a zombie = You're gonna turn in to a zombie within 24 hours.

The story follows a group of survivors, looking for civilization/other survivors/a place to be safe. Very cool, very character driven, less like a horror flick and more like a soap opera that happens to have The Living Dead as a backdrop. Main characters die all the time, being replaced with other characters as the story goes on and the characters develope. No super posers, no "I suddenly know how to use every type of weapon", no bullshit. Just real people doing whatever they gotta do in order to survive. VERY cool and realistic and horrifying.

So anywho, this latest issue introduced an extremely mysterious survivor character that just... she just blows my mind with possibility! For you long-time comics readers, do you remember how we used to feel about Wolverine? This mysterious guy with a mysterious murderous past and violent tendencies but some ties to Japan and samurai and ninja and that "WTF IS HE DOING?!?!" feeling before they started explaining his back story? This new character gives me those same feelings.

So the first time we see her, the first thing you notice is that she's got two zombies on chains following her. These zombies have had their jaw and arms ripped off, and they follow her like docile puppies. They seem to allow her to walk through crowds of zombies unmolested. And if/when any zombie int he crowd happens to get uppity and try to take a bite? ZHINNNG! She slices their head off with one swipe of her Katanna.

DUUUUUUUUUDE!!!

So she meets up with our main cast of characters and it ends up that the two jawless-armless zombies with her are her boyfriend and her brother! So she asks to join the main group (they've holed-up in a prison) and our guys say "Yeah, youc an join... but the zombies have gotta go".

So she whacks their heads off, no hesitation.

Once again, DUUUUUUUUUDE!!!

This is the COOLEST Zombie Killer character I've ever seen!
