Three Concerns and a Question
Oct. 26th, 2005 08:06 am(1) Today I supposedly start my Video cross-training at work. I say "Supposedly" becuase even though my Supervisor said it was for Video, the scheduling thingee says it's for Billing. I'm not against getting off the phones for three days in order to learn how to take a payment over the phone (something I already figured out on my own), but I'd REALLY like to be able to actually *help* the customers instead of transfer them.
(2) Gilmore Girls is beginning to wear me down. Oh don't get me wrong - it's still the bestest show on Television right now! But this entire season so far has been nothing but akward resentment and bickering between Rory and Loreli and there's just no sense of FUN any more.Every week we ish and hope that THIS will e the episode where they get back together but ends up they don't and it's just frustrating! Hopefully the reappearance of Jess will be what it takes to kick Rory in tha taght little keister of hers and get back in to College. Wouldn't that be great if the boy Loreli hates the most ends up being the catalyst for a Gilmore reunion?
(3) We only have two episodes of Firefly left, then the "Bonus Features". I've got all thre issues of the Comic book sitting in my box at The Comic Stop and there's still the movie to be seen, but after that it's done. No more Firefly. And that sucks. It's really an incredible show, I can't even begin to fathom why it failed on TV! Each of the 9 main characters are so well thought-out and developed, I just want to know more about them! I want to keep seeing adventures in this particular brand of sci-fi universe! I don't want to say goodbye! This is every bit as bad as when they cancelled Space: Above & Beyond.
QUESTION: So now that the end of Firefly is imminent, which TV-Show-On-DVD should we explore next? Babylon 5 or Buffy The Vampire Slayer?

Answer: Babylon 5! Babylon 5! And DS9 :)

Date: 2005-10-26 09:56 pm (UTC)Although, you really do have to watch all 6 or 7 seasons of Buffy to watch it truly develop. The first season, while great, is still kinda formulaic - you can tell they're nervous about getting cancelled, while later seasons they relax a bit & actually play with things. Problem is, when you finish the 3rd season of Buffy, you need to go grab the first season of Angel to go with the 4th season of Buffy, 'cause the characters do just enough running back & forth between Sunnydale & L.A. to make it a good thing. (again, Sno-Isle saves the day!)
I've never watched any Babylon 5 so no recommendations on that front... although a friend gave me a pile of "taped from tv" VHS that has the first few seasons of it. Yet to watch it though.
