I have now sen everything ever put to film regarding Firefly and/or Serenity.

I am extremely happy to have experienced it all, and look forward to reading the comic book mini-series (sitting in my box as we speak).

And as I reflect upon Firefly, I am forced to think of all the other short-lived Fox Network sci-fi shows that were absolutely incredible and have devoted cult followings.

The X-Files
Space: Above & Beyond
Alien Nation
Dark Angel
Harsh Realm
VR5

These are the only ones I can think of right now, but it is now my belief that Fox Television has produced some of the finest sci-fi ever to grace the small screen, even if it is in such small portions. And I am shocked that Fox doesn't have any sci-fi on their schedule right now, in what some are calling a "Science Fiction Renaisance" thanks to shows like "Lost".

Anyone care to dredge up some stinker from the vaults that I've forgotten about? Or know of a current sci-fi program on Fox that I've somehow overlooked in the curent schedule?

X-Files doesn't seem really short-lived to me, but I guess that's by comparison to some of the others...

You're right... X-Files isn't one of their average 1-3-season bursts of Sci Fi, but it *is* an example of great science fiction making it's home at Fox.

It's the back-up to another hteory, that Fox DOES NOT make Bad Sci-Fi. Not an Andromeda, Enterprise or Cleopatra 2525 in the bunch!

X-Files went like 8 seasons... What's your criteria for short lived? ;)

Earth2... *that* was short lived. Okay, also not on Fox, but I liked it anyway.

Well, not really "short lived", ut a prime example of how Fox has always put out quality, mold-breaking shows with large cult folowings. It's part of my back-up hypothesis that Fox does not make BAD sci-fi, ever. Not an Andromeda, Enterprise or Cleopatra 2525 in the whole bunch!

Have never sen any of Earth2, so I can not pas judgment on it yet. But it's not Fox, so that data is not neccessary at this time :)

Don't forget Millennium, another Chris Carter flight of...something. That was on Fox, wasn't it? The show was okay, although many said it got better/worse after the shadowy conspiracy stuff kicked in.

Also, I'm pretty sure Sliders started out on Fox, since I watched it in college and we were too broke to have anything but the 23-channel cable that came with out apartment. That cable certainly did not come with the SciFi network, I tell you. In fact, other than the broadcast networks, the only channels we got were USA, CSPAN, a shopping channel, CNN, the Learning Channel and a preview channel to tell us all the cool stuff that was playing on channels we didn't get. It was sad when the coolest cable shows we had were "Connections 2" and "Operation." The latter was pretty gory.

Yes! Sliders started on Fox, then got all weird when the Sci Fi Channel took over things. The brought in Karri Whurer, dropped all the regular characters... went straight to hell.

What about that X-Files spin-off? Lone Gunman? That was an awesome show.

Not Sci-fi but still FOX, looks like they're trying to cancel Arrested Development again, bastards! I love that frickin' show.

Well HELLS YEAS Lone Gunmen! That show rocked, and I would consider it to be Sci-Fi every bit as much as X-Files, Lost and/or Kolchak The Night Stalker!

Now regarding Arested Development... It is my sincere belief that Fox wants that show to remain an "Underdog" so they can drum up interest in it every season. Have you noticed how challenging they make it to see new episodes? It's always the first show to get bumped for any "special" movie or event. They're testing just how sturdy and devoted us fans are!

So stay strong! Solidarity, Sister!
