The magic is gone :(

Every year for the past 15 years or so, I have made hand-made figures for my parents every Christmas (and other holidays as well, but mainly Christmas) out of Sculpey oven-bake clay. They're cute, usually holiday-themed, and I really enjoy making them.

I've been sitting here at my desk for nearly three hours now trying to make something out of Sculpey, and it's just not happening. Everything I start to make just comes out looking lumpy and retarded, or completely not what I had in mind, or just gets trashed half-way through.

Is it gone? Have I lost the "The Touch"? Or am I just so stressed-out by work that I can't let the "Magic" flow???

It's a terrible, terrible thing to be creatively impotent :(

"Creatively impotent" makes it sound like you're finding new and inventive ways to not be able to maintain an erection.

Anyway, as in the case of real impotence (which I'm sure you've never been afflicted with, being a "real man" and all .. *cough*), the key is to not try to hard! Go do something else. Let the creative, er, juices .. start flowing and .. oh god. I have to be sick.
