Feel free to play along, even though my friends list seems to be carefully crafted from only the finest non-memers around. Years of said gifts are aproximate since I am a total Lop when it comes to remembering when I actually got stuff. This list is actually much harder than it looks! Try it and you'll see!

TOP 5 COMMERCIALISTIC/MATERIALISTIC XMAS PRESENTS I EVER GOT IN ALL OF FOREVER

(1) Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper Launcher (1979) - Try as I might, I can not find a picture on-line of this wonderful toy. It used space-age ruberband pull-back technology to launche foam-ruber colonial vipers out of a two-foot long plastic Battlestar Galactica. Flings Colonial Vipers up to 30 feet!

(2) Transformers Constructicons/Devestator (2001) - It was the year that the Transformers made their triumphant return to the limelight. A new cartoon, a new line of toys, a new comic book... and my darling khristle went searching through store after store looking for all 5 of the Constructicons so I could combine them and form the mighty Devestator. That was a first for me!

(3) Alex Ross "Mythology" book (2003) - Such an incredibly beautiful coffe table-sized book full of wonderful Alex Ross artwork. Focusing primarily on his DC work (which is my favorite because it's so iconic), I pull this one out on a fairly regular basis to check it out over and over again.

(4) Curious George Wrist Watch (1999) - The first gift khristle gave me, back when we were just cyber-dating. I wish I knew where this watch was now... the batter went dead and I took it off so I could replace the battery, and now it's lost to the boxes upon boxes of miscelaneous debris, probably in the storage unit :(

(5) Shogun Warriors "Raydeen" (1977) - This sucker was TWO FEET TALL, which, when I was 4, meant is was nearly as tall as I was! My grandma got one for me and one ("Great Mazinga") for my Cousin Mark that Christmas. There was about two hours of us firing every single missile, fist and space ship at eachother while chasing eachother around the room, and then... then my memory gets a bit foggy. All I know is that there was much crying and neither Raydeen nor Great Mazinga were heard from again.

I never had the Colonial Viper Launcher, but I remember the ads for them. Very cool toy.

I did however have all the Shogun Warriors, and they were super cool!

My favorite childhood toy was the Space 1999 Eagle playset.

In the original one, yes there were. But these were the NEW Transformers. Chunkier, larger, better looking individual robots, multi-colored... a very impressive robot when all 5 came together! Unlike the original matchbox-sized lame robots of the original Constructicons (Lookit me! I'm a truck with a face painted on my underside! Tip me up and I'm a robot! WHEEEE!!!") these suckers could each stand as their own stand-alone Transformer quite admirably.
