The Gig in Fife

I don't remember if I posted about it here in my journal, but we've got a pretty incredible opportunity to live rent-free for the next few years if we move to Fife. In exchange, we would be running a "You Store It" stoarge facility there on the weekends. We interviewed for the position on Monday; we'll know on Thursday if we got it.

THE BIGGEST CON: They don't have Comcast service there. It's right off of I-5, but it's a mainly Commercial neighborhood. So that's $150 worth of "Perks" I wouldn't be getting any more.

THE BIGGEST PRO: It's just a few blocks away from The Emerald Queen Casino! Never again will I have to miss a performance of Loverboy, Smokey Robinson, Tanya Tucker or Carrot Top! IT'S LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

Hmm. You can't get comcast at all? The service isn't available at all, or is it just business-level service?

The pro of the EQC is that most of the installers from the Auburn office hang out there. So you could befriend them and mooch off their free internets. ;)

Well that's cool! But yeah, according to the owner they just don't have it there at all and they can't even get it. So I'll be working on THAT when I get to werk tonight!

Yeah... yeah it is. And it is VERY Fife, too. Like the absolute Fifeiest PART of Fife! Nestled betwixt multiple car dealerships, no trees or water ANYWHERE... pretty gawd awful.

BUT! If we could live there for just like 2 years and put away two years worth of Rent for a down payment on a HOUSE? We could get a pretty nice house in a NON-Fife area!
