Got two new CD's over the course of this past week; the newest from Eminem, and The White Stripes. The Eminem one is just good enough to make it catchy, but not much beyond that. THE WHITE STRIPES, however... wow! 16 tracks, 9 of which are really REALLY good! Like, remember the first Violent Femmes album? Remember how side A of that tape just rocked all known existance and had you singing along and wanting to pick up your own guitar and just crank out an album because it was just that good? Yeah, the first 9 or 10 songs on The White Stripes CD are like *that*. But then, remember how side B of the first Violent Femmes album was just sorta *there*? Like, you'd put it on, listen for a while, then remember "Oh yeah... I'm listening to this!" and then you'd get real bored and end up fast-forwarding the tape just so you could listen to side A again? Yeah, that's what the other 6 songs on The White Stripes CD.
So is it worth the $11 it costs at Wharehouse Music right now? Yeah, I guess. But I's just suggest that you do like I did; trade in 5 old CD's on a Tuesday for it. This way, you reduce your inventory of Crap-tastic music, and relace it with shiny new music!
