Okay, let's look at this logically now:
  • I'm talking aobut being in the car from 6pm till probably right around 2am - 8 HOURS. With a 7-month-old and a wife who's attention span and patience are not amongst her strong suits.
  • An outdoor environment may mean it's open season for Smokers, which would DEFINATELY keep us from enjoying the show.
  • We would be missing out on a Game Night so we could go to this thing... my first opportunity to try the Zombie Corpse expansion pack! However, I think Zombies would end up being a three-person affair since Gin has no interest in playing and [livejournal.com profile] ke7bo has dropped off the face of the earth once again.
  • Man cannot live by Popcorn and Soda Pop alone.
  • 8 hours where the only restroom available is bathtub and a bucket is NOT an appealing night.

But I really DO want to see these movies on the big screen! And I didn't get to go to the Drive-In at all this summer... that's something I really missed :(

What to do?

Assign value 1:Drive-In 2:Game night
Roll 1d2.

If roll = 1
then
realize parenthood has stolen your ability to enjoy life outside of your house until the age of 2 for your future youngest child
Goto 10
else
Enjoy game night with your friends and family.

For the attention span/7 month old, you can bring ANYTHING to the movies. Bring the game with you! Or something to do. Also, the drivein is a benefit for the 7 month old, it is probably the only place you can bring her that she can cry at the top of her lungs and almsot nobody would care! My bro-in-law went to the drivein with us and their 3 month old fell asleep almost instantly. Something about being in a running car seems to put most babies to sleep.

For the smoking, I have never had anyone close enough to bother me. The worst would be if you got a smoking car right next to you, and if so, move to another spot.

As for missing the game, you could potentially move it to the theater. invite everyone there!

You don't need to live on popcorn and soda alone! Make any dinner you want and bring it! You can bring in a pizza, grill up some steaks and bring them, make a bowl of soup, anything! Also, this is the only theater they don't care what you drink, so potentially if you weren't driving you could bring wine coolers or whatever. Bring a pitcher of tea if you like.

The restroom, there is one available there. Not quite a bathtub and bucket, they do have toilets and urinals, although sometimes it can have an unusual order. Wear a necklace of garlic though and this won't bother you at all! It would also protect you from any vampires wandering the lot.

If you bring the zombie game, you could potentially just ask people in the cars near you if they want to play, you could end up getting more than you need that way.

Okay, playing zombies at the drive in? that's just odd. (but cool.)

Yeah, but also a waste of $8 per person. Why pay to play outside when we could go play indoors at [livejournal.com profile] teegin's house for FREE and get excellent BBQ burgers!
