Well POOP!

My "Cough That Won't Go Away" is actually a highly contagious Viral Bronchitis! I have to use a special inhaler and take some Vicodine-spiked Tussin syrup to get rid of it!

Doc said i should avoid contact with my Dad (who is recovering in the hospital quite nicely from his hip replacement, thenkyewveramuch) and pretty much anybody else who doesn't have like a WEEK that they can just take off and not contaminate others with.

Unfortunately, I don't think that *I* have a week to spare! I just might be coming in to work on Saturday and Sunday despite The Doctor (who bore an EERIE resemblance to the prosthetics doctor/"Ice Truck Murderer" on last season's Showtime Original Series, "Dexter") saying I should avoid prolonged contact with folks till the cough is at least mostly gone.

Nope! They don't let you do that any more with FMLA. If you take a day off and you don't have flex time to cover it, regardless of if it's FMLA related, it's an occourance. This is why Jon and others who have FMLA are ever so upset over the whole thing, and we're all prety sure that the new attendance policy is illegal as all heck.

Not so sure of that, I did get an occurence for that last bout of oral surgery last month but as soon as it was approved by fmla It got shredded :D No more occurence!!! Now If I know how the new Attendance Policy Works the big thing that has changed is that if you have paid time available to take, you must take it. If after you used all the FMLA then you have an occurence that is not covered by FMLA that unexcused abbsence is an occurence.

Glad your dad is doing well after his hip replacement. He's going to be hurting for a while.
My dad had both done, it was a major bitch. I did take family leave and spent a month living with my parents in Idaho. Then both sisters took a couple weeks after that. This was long before I worked for "the Evil Empire." The company I worked for then made me use up all my vacation and sick time before they granted the leave. And there we could bank unused time. I think I had like 3 weeks of vacation and 1 week of unpaid leave, or something like that.
