Last night I saw something that left me shaken and just a little bit stirred. It was an A&E Biography about the current star player on Sesame Street, Elmo. I don't really have anything against Elmo. He's actually kind of sweet! Any bitterness I feel towards Elmos is only becuase I know that he just stole his whole act from Grover, and now Grover has been reduced to few if any new bits on the show. He's like the Bob Hope of Sesame Street.

But any ways... the thing I saw last night on TV. Right. The thing that has left me feeling shocked and confused. Back on subject, don't let the anger get the better of me...

So they're interviewing the guy who does Elmo's voice (yes, it's a guy), and it's not at all what you would expect! Having grown up seeing behind-the-sceenes footage of the Muppets with scruffy hippie-looking guys like Jim Henson and Frank Oz, I was expecting the voice to be done by either Peter, Paul, or Mary. But oh no... that was not the case.

Elmo is voiced by a large black man with a deep, baritone voice. I kid you not! I'm pretty sure that all he does is squeeze his testicles to get the high pitch of Elmo down.

(as a side note, while looking for images to ink to on this post, I accidentally found out about The Muppet Fest. It sounds really keen!)
