I won't actually talk about The Movie here for fear of "Spoilers", but I will let you know I had an AWESOME time. Just as I expect to have an Awesome Time when I go to see Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, despite what advance reviews may say.

Why?

I've got an entirely new attitude towards Marvel Movies, and I owe it all to that ONE SCEENE in Ghostrider.

You know the sceene. (SPOILER AHEAD FOR GHOSTRIDER FANS WHO MAY NOT HAVE SEEN THE FILM) Old Cowboy Ghostrider burns off his one last burst of Ghostriderness on what? Not fighting The Forces Of Evil That Ghostrider Will Need All The Help He Can Get... oh no! He transforms for one final, glorious time so he can keep Ghostrider company while riding accross the desert to the techno-fied "Ghost Riders In The Sky".

See, Marvel Movies aren't about great stories and developed plots and logic and believable characters; that's what The Comics are for! The Marvel Movies are more like an animated, full-motion POSTER than anything else. They're made to LOOK cool and invoke thoughts of the comics that they were inspired by, regardless of how illogical or contrived it may seem once it's on the big screen.

I use the term "Poster" just because that's the only other medium I can think of that's like this. Thionk of any comic-related poster that you've ever seen; the classic Mike Zeck "Punisher" poster where The Punisher is standing against a grafitti-covered wall, his mouth open and foaming like a madman, firing an M-16 at an unseen enemy who is aparently shining a large spotlihgt on good ol' Franky Castle. Why a spotlight? Why the grafitti? Why the foamy mouth? Dunno... but it sure looks cool! I'LL BUY IT!

'Nother example, think of Alex Ross' Justivce League painting. When was the last time The LEague all got together and said "Okay gang... enough of this Saving The World; we gotta go stand in a white room and puff out our chests!"

It's all just made to be very pretty. And I think it's TOTALLY Mission Accomplished!
