Got my XM Radio Samsung Nexus back at the end of November, and it came with a free three-month subscription. Since our apartment doesn't actually have any southern exposure so I can actually USE the receiver, I've just been using it as a small-capacity MP3 Player and not othering with the serice. In February my free subscription expired and I called to cancel the service.

They offered me their $25-a-month service for $10 a month at that time. I said no thanks, so they just gave me anothe 3 months for free, no strings attatched. Okay, sure, go ahead and keep my account active, but I'm not really gonna use it.

Today my free three month subscription expired so i called in to cancel. This time they offered me their $25-a-month service for only $5 per month. I declined, so they gave me ANOTHER three months for FREE. And as long as I call in before September 20th (verified and double-verified with the nice Pakistani lady), there will be no charge and i can call in to "renegotiate".

I fully expect to call in on September 10th and be offered the $25-a-month service for $1 a month, and then be given another YEAR of free service.

And you know how much i paid for the whole package, hardware and service included? <>$15! Thank you, Woot.com!

Wow... That sounds just like what used to happen when you would try to cancel an AOL account 10 years ago... I couldn't speak for what would happen now w/ them 'cause I only had AOL the one time & it was... 10 years ago.

now it's the other way around. Aol will let you cancel no problem, then charge you three extra months. Then you call to try and cancel again, they say sure, no problem, then charge you another three months...
