Bought myself a T-Shirt at WalMart today!!!

I know that usually wouldn't be anything to be proud of, but for me it's a milestone; it's the first time in quite a while that I've been ale to buy a shirt "Off-The-Rack" at a major retailer! Most of the time I have to go to a Big-N-Tall store, or the Big Dogs Outlet Store, or some other such nonsense. Go to Goodwill and hope that some really fat guy recently died so I can pick up some new clothes.

But this... THIS is a REAL T-SHIRT! I'm the first person to have owned it! It is trendy! It is fun! It is a shirt that I am wearing because I WANT to wear it; not jus because "It Fits"!

Last time I had been small enough to buy off-the-rack clothes was before I met my wife, some SIX YEARS AGO when I dropped a lot of weight doing Atkins. Of course, like everybody else who dropped pounds on Atkins, I gained it all back plus interest.

This time, though, with The Lapband? SO MUCH EASIER! Only thing I've had to give up was carbonated beverages and my desire to eat until I could no longer move. It has taken maybe 2% willpower, the rest of it has just been a cakewalk.

If you're on my Friends List and you're obese to the point where YOU can't buy clothes at regular store? i STRONGLY recommend The Lapband to you! It's downright LIFE-CHANGING!!!

Someday you will take a huge load of huge clothes to goodwill and you will tell them the man who used to wear them is dead and gone and a new man lives in his clothes. :D

That is awesome.

The big question I have for you though is this: Did you make a good choice in t-shirts or will you be teased for wearing something dorky? Heh Heh!

Congrats.

I am currently in the midst of dropping some weight myself. For the first time in a long time I've purchased 3XL shirts and have had them hanging so loosely on me. In a few months I hope to have the same thing happen when I put on a 2XL shirt.

So I am very happy for you. Good job!

That's just so awesome! I think (but don't really know) that it seems like such a safer and more guaranteed way vs. GBS. It's just awesome. I'm so happy for you guys!

You're right; it IS much safer and more reliable than Gastric Bypass. The Lap Band is completely reversible if I don't want it any more, and the weight loss is much more gradual (which gives me time to try and tighten-up the skin as a lose weight, avoiding "Sharpei Puppy Belly")

really? i didnt know it was gradual like that???? hmmm.. may have to rethink current position....
(miss you guys so much)

Oh heck yeah! Gastric Bypass makes you lose it all right away, but the Lap Band has been averaging about 12 pounds a month for me... and I'm somewhat an exception to the rule. Most folks lose 10 per month at the very most.

It really is great! i can't reccomend it highly enough!

haven't commented anywhere in a long time since Lisa went to the hospital. Got lots to say though! Did you see Mythbusters is going to do a Marvel Superheroes episode? Oh and I tried to win you a wii, but I don't think I made it. Go to limbo.com and play grab the wii. Just so you know, you have to have strategy. You only are allowed 300 grabs, and it goes to whoever held it for the total longest amount. So if you grab it for 1 second, and then 10 seconds, your total amount would be 11 seconds. I didn't read before playing and blew all my grabs in about 10 minutes. Made it up to almost 7 minutes worth of grabbing though. check it out! Also, do you play kingdom of loathing? kingdomofloathing.com. I am supernovame there too. Also-also have you tried dungeonrunners.com yet? I haven't, but it sounds like fun. A typical fantasy mmorpg that makes fun of itself and other mmorpgs, and has all kinds of cool humor is what I heard. Now that I am working from home I have more free time, can you tell? Talk to you later!

How's Lisa doing? A bit better I hope!

Let's see... have not heard about the Marvel MythBisters yet, as I no longer have cable... but it will be one I have to download!

Trying Limbo.com right now... thanks for thinking of me :)

Kingdomn of Loathing I just haven't had time for... i barely have time to update my ChoreWars character on a weekly basis!

Tried to download and install Dungeonrunners, but it crashed my system :( I need something better than the glorified word processor I'm currently running on!

Good to hear from you!

Lisa is a bit better right now. She was a bit worse last week, but she is better than that now, although not quite as good as two weeks ago, but hoping she will be back to that in a week or two.

If you can't get that mythbusters I will save it on tivo, let me know. Also, did you get to see Megasnake starring Feedback? I was a little disappointed, I was hoping Feedback would have a more starring role than a few seconds.

I haven't updated chorewars recently. I use KOLmafia though when I get behind in kol. It plays most stuff for you and you can go do other things. I'll have to see if I can run dungeonrunners. I tried gametap, because I heard they have a free subscription now and some games are free each week. Wanted to play Sam and Max mainly, but gametap doesn't work on my system with Vista.

catch you later!
