Democracy shouldn't be *easy*, but I'd think it would be at least DOABLE

Two months ago I discovered that my voter status had gone INACTIVE for some reason, no one could tell me why or how. Re-activated it then and there, and everything on-line says I'm registered and active; but I still haven't gotten my Absentee Ballot (which we in Washington State are forced to use). And the On-Line Caucus Finder says that I don't exist.

On a related note - if you are voting for a democrat and want your vote to count in this round, go to the caucus today!! We are attending ours, they start at 1. You can fill out a registration at the caucas and fully participate. If you didn't find this info already, you can look here (http://www.wa-democrats.org/get_local_county.php) for a phone number and call to find your caucas location.

I should add, since I just learned this and it's possible that others are not aware, that the democratic delegates are chosen by the caucus ONLY, the primary vote does not count for them. Republicans choose about half of their delegates from the caucus and the other half from the primary. Thus, if you want to vote for a democratic candidate at this time, you must attend the caucus for your vote to count.

The other option is to vote as a spoiler in the Republican primary in an attempt to give McCain some competition. A lot of people learned only too late that their Primary vote doesn't count for anything. It wasn't in the news until after a lot of people mailed in their ballots. Very frustrating.

My favorite thing is being forced to vote a certain way in a democracy I love it.
