Anybody in my local area (Lynnwood/Everett-ish) want to split gas and go to a comic book store that's closing in Burien?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/clt/612814362.html

"All modern age comics 50% off... still thousands of comics for 12 cents each..
All graphic novels 50% off also, spend $1000 and get even more discount..
magic on sale form 25 to 50% off"

It's really the 12-cent comics I'm hot for, but I figure at least SOMEBODY on my FL wuld be intereste din either comics or magic: the Gathering, right?

Anyone?

Wow, that is really a good deal. I wish I could go look at their graphic novels. But alas, I'm either going to be sick (starting to feel it) or in Mt. Vernon visiting Mom.

Too bad you aren't in NJ. Wild Pig Comics is having another one of their legendary huge ass sales on 3/29-30. It's a 29-hr sale open the whole time. Artists sketching too.

DOH!

Sales are good, but what *really* interests me are the shops that are going out of business. I like to go in and see what they did wring so I don't repeat their mistakes. Just by looking at the pictures that this guy posted of his shop I can tell already that he's over-crowded a small space with too many back issues and probably doesn't carry much in the way of new stuff.

I'm kinda stoked to go and talk to him!

Actually that's kind of what Wild Pig does. They had a blow out sale when they decided that they would no longer carry tshirts. Then they decided they wouldn't carry action figures. Now they are dumping all their statues. They are going to do just comics and novels.

Good for them! That's the way to do it... then let your customers tell you what else they want to see! Or, alternately, contact manufacturers directly to see if you can cut-out The Middle Man and buy your non-comics directly from the source!

I've always got my eye out for the Serenity/Firefly comics.

They didn't have any Firefly stuff as far as I could see... pretty tiny shop. HOWEVER! A new FireFly comic book series just started up last week! You can get new issues at The Comic Stop RIGHT NOW!
