That delightful "New Home" smell? It's dead vermin.

When we first looked at this place, khristle had misgivings about the place because of an odd smell. I personally did not notice it - but I'm a "Boy". Boys don't smell odd smells, which is why we stink a lot and do stinky things.

Bu The landlord noticed the smell as well, and was in the middle of tearing out and replacing the entire floor of the Master Bedroom, which is where the smell was coming from.

Floor has been torn out, replaced, brand-new toilet (the old one was marked 1955), but everybody said the smell was still there. Not me, though... I still didn't smell anything.

But as of about 2am this morning? NOW I smell it! YECH! It's not any stronger than it was before (according to sources who could smell it all along), but now for some reason i can totally smell it.

Landlord is gonna crawl under the place tomorrow morning to see if there's a dead Vermin under there or something. I can't believe I've lived here for over a WEEK now and had not smelled this till just now!

But once it's gone I wonder if we'll miss that New Home Dead Vermin smell?

There is this stuff called Great Stuff. It is our anti-rodent godsend! Mouse sized cracks in the back of the cabinets? Great Stuff! A hole in the siding that mice can squeeze into? Great Stuff!

I'm telling ya, in the 7 years we have lived in the house, the Smell of Death has been cut down by lots. Do we still get the smelly buggers? Yep. Do we get as many. Nope!

It's kind of fun to use too.
