Went to The Hospital today to visit my Aunt Bid (Verna, no idea how she got the name "Bid") who just got done with OPEN HEART SURGERY. For an old broad who had just had her chest opened-up and her ticker tinkered with, she was looking GREAT! Like, not just "Oh wow, how are you, you look great no really", but an actual-factual LIVELY, SPIRITED CONVERSATIONALIST. She's in high spirits and joking around and sharing stories and just having such a good recovery that they're thinking of letting her out TOMORROW (Saturday). She was supposed to be in there till next Thursday!

Completely unrelated, Molly's two "Heavy Rotation" movies right now are WALL-E and Meet The Robinsons. WALL-E seems to be a movie that is adored by everybody who HAS seen it, and despised by everybody who has not. Meet The Robinsons is about 76% better than an non-Pixar movie for Disney should ever have been. BOTH movies are awesome Sci-Fi Starter Kits for kids :)

I think WALL-E is pretty cute, but I'm kinda tired of it already. Amara is also obsessed with it :)

Sure it wasn't the Hello Dolly clips she loves?

I saw Wall-E, didn't care for it. Too cute, too long, too precious in the wrong way. But hey if Molly loves it, then maybe I need to take a second look.
Meet the Robinsons was much better than I expected.

One of my sisters loves "Meet the Robinsons" -- I don't know why I can't find it in me to care about it much. The movie has its clever moments but...I dunno.

WALL-E was cute as heck. I liked it a lot. I've observed that most people who "despise" it without having seen it have bought into the alleged 'fat people will destroy the environment' message that I seriously cannot see in WALL-E at all. Someone mixed up their cause and effect, methinks.

Meet the Robinsons is awesome if for no other reason than this; it has the BEST interpretation of The Future that you're likely to ever see in a modern movie. I mean sure, we all know that The Future has it's flying cars and robots... but what about the stuff that'll make you go "Huh?"

Take a person from the 1950's and plop him in to today's culture, he'll see some of the stuff he always expected in The Future. He'll see cars that talk to you, doors that open automatically, TV screens of ever size everywhere, etc. But then there's the REALLY WEIRD STUFF that we wouldn't think of.

Why is that person dancing? I don't hear any music, and all she has is a few wires in her head coming from that matchbook-sized thingee!

That guy said he's playing a game, but all I see is him holding that odd-shaped box and starring at the TV screen!

Boys trying to marry boys?!? Girls trying to marry Girls?!?!

That little box just cooked an entire meal in 3 minutes?

And that's where Meet The Robinsons is just brilliant. It's all in the little details. Gags that look like they were just meant to be silly are actually fantastical predictions of The Future! A man who is married to a wooden puppet! A woman who teaches frogs to sing! An Intergalactic Super Hero who's primary job is delivering Pizza to other planets!!!

I love it more and more each time I see it :)

I won't argue with your points about The Future of Meet the Robinsons being cool, because it is. It's a shiny-clean EPCOT chunk of awesome. There's just something about the movie, which I can't exactly put my finger on, that keeps me from "wow! cool"ing all over the place. *shrug*

Yep, Bryan the Moose Boy likes both too, but we don't have Robinson's on DVD. We've been watching Kung Fu Panda for the last few days. I like that one more then he does.

You want I should send you a Bootleg of Meet the Robinsons? We've got a DVD recorder hooked-up to the TV, and Meet The Robinsons is On Demand this month :)
