I'm supposed to be building a Frankenputer for Molly's birthday, but i can't even get it to recognize any hard drives!

Of course the computer I'm using as a base already had that problem, which is how I inherited it... but i figured it'd be as easy as popping a new drive in there! Guess I was wrong :( Guess it's time to start trolling Craigslist for free/cheap-ass systems :(

I've got a way old gateway lap top, weighs about 40 lbs, has issues powering up. I think its more a loose thing. ohhh hear my techno babble. But its all yours if you want it.

If the computer is in other ways good, you can pick up an add-in IDE controller from NewEgg for $15 or so.

Yeah, but then I'd have to figure our how to install an add-in IDE Controller... and even then I'm not sure that's all what's wrong with this computer. Bzaby steps, i guess...
