D&D Night?

One person showed up.

But what we lacked in volume, we made up for in FUN! Dan and Auriela came, bjorker wasn't feeling up to it. We played D&D Minis while The Girls ransacked the joint. It was as if Molly and Auri were destined to be together!

Dan is the perfect addition to any gaming night... concerned enough with the rules to bother looking up how something should happen, but flexible enough to jujst go with the flow. Oh, and fun! Entertaining! Funny! All in all, an excellent addition to The Captain Slinky Regulars :)

I need to get Molly and Auri together more often... this may mean forcing myself to hang-out with people!

Dan says you were discussing my psychosomatic symptoms. pfft. I'm going to go to the doctor, and they're going to tell me that I have low iron when I menstruate and that's why I feel like dizzy puke-y shite when Aunt Flo comes, and THEN you'll be sorry.

Aurelia was so cute when she came home babbling about Molly and computers and "Blue skeet" ?! I'm guessing Blues Clues? Something was lost in translation, there.

LOL - Brian is just hoping to find someone else who has psychosomatic illnesses that come up whenever there is a social gathering. He wants to prove to me that it is a real thing.

We were sorry you weren't able to make it, next time though! We had lots of fun and Molly and Aurelia are SO CUTE together. They didn't fight at all! And yeah, you're right it was Blue's Clues that they watched. They watched a lot of TV last night :/ But they played a lot too. I wish I had gotten pictures. For both of them being only kids, I am totally shocked at how well they got on.

So the game....I just want to let you know that you don't have to worry if you never played it before. I had NO idea what the hell was going on, but I won. That's right, my big piece of ROCK defeated the Dragon and Knight, took down scissors too. Thankfully, Paper was nowhere to be seen.

Aurelia was extremely cute all night long, and they got along so great! They spent a good amount of time watching "Blue Skeet", but it was good playing :) Is it okay to call her "Auri"?

And yeah, regarding psychosemantics... I have a severe allergy to Dust mites that can flare-up at a moment's notice, giving me severe flu-like symptoms that can pass within hours. TRUE STORY! I have prescriptions and everything for it! So when i get all sick-feeling before meeting somebody... even somebody I know and have known all my life (even MY PARENTS)... I usually chalk it up to The Dust Mite Allergy and tell everybody I can't make it till it passes (which is usually just moments after I'm relieved of the social obligation).

Funny thing, though... I have absolutely no problem with absolute strangers. In a retail setting, or large events or crowds... not a problem! Matter of fact, I'm down-right *charming* in those situations, which is what makes most people think it's REALLY WEIRD that I have a social phobia. It's not till you add the semi-intimacy of familiarity to the mix that i get all sick and looking for excuses.

For instance, we have a Birthday Party to go to today. I AM GOING BATSHIT OVER IT TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO NOT GO!!! I want Crystal and Molly to go because they need to be around other people... but I'm sick just thinking about it!

I've typed way too much here. When is Auri's party? I'm sure you've got a ton to do as well! But I know that accepting guests on your own home turf is much easier than going elsewhere :)

Crap I missed it. I was under the weather and regenerating in my safe place. You should have phoned me I would have attempted a venture out. I'll get the next one. Sorry bud. On the up side I feel better now. So any new insights as to what to play and or a little back ground to the game or at least a taste of what I missed?

We didn't start the actual adventure, opting to instead play the D&D Minis Game which was just enough to quench a thirst for hack-n-slash without all that pesky character development and storyline nonsense :)

doh again I bought a milk carton of D&D minis when I was at PAX I could have brought too. I will bring them next time for sure. Is it a go again for this Friday or next?

AWESOME!!! Be sure to pick out the figure that you feel best represents your character! and then bring all them bad-boys with ya!

Next game night will be in two weeks; we do it every other week. Friday, February 6th. Mark it on your calendar! Show-up any time between 5 and 6, gaming will start at approximately 6pm or whenever everybody gets there, and will continue till around 9pm. We'll provide some basic food stuffs and tap water, you bring something else if'n ya feel like you want something else :)
