I'd given her plush stuffed animal puppies. I've given her remote-control puppies. I've given her toy puppies that can bark and flip and do all sorts of tricks.

But the toy puppy that she loves and plays with the most is a yellow non-recoiling construction tape measure. She can play with her circular "Puppy" for HOURS.

But to be fair, the yellow circular puppy also does double-duty as a Yo-Yo.

And that is why I don't think she's quite ready for a puppy.

Caleb broke the first one of those "puppies" I let him play with. Got a penny wedged in it and jammed up the springs. He is CONSTANTLY playing with my other one and I fear the inevitable conclusion.

I wonder what kinds fascination with tape measures is. Of course today I stopped Caleb 1/2 inch away from shoving a screwdriver into the one unblocked electrical outlet. Kid has a thing for tools I guess.
