Ends up that the modem was indeed bad. Clearwire offered to mail it to my Mom and it would be there in 7 to 10 business days so we threatened to cancel service. Retention gave her a free upgrade, 2 months of free service and a new modem that i could pick-up at the Bellingham Cable Store.

Also showed my Dad how to play music on his computer and use Picasa.

So yeah! It was a trip worth taking :)

I do computer maintenance and education every time I visit my parents. Last time, they had NO malware, adware or anything suspicious on their computer. I was proud. ;)
