SANCTIONARY!!!

I'm looking to get registered in the RPGA so that I can become a sanctioned Dungeon Master, but it looks like th eonly way to get registered is to actually go to a sanctioned event.

LAAAAAME!

I'd really like to get my younger Nieces (Haley and Hannah) registered a swell, but getting them to go to a Sanctioned Gaming Event would prove to be... cumbersome? Sure, I'll use that.

I mean c'mon... I can't get them to go to a Comic Con with real-life celebrities and whatnot! What chance do i have of getting them to go to something like PAX?

I found exactly *ONE* D&D Event coming up in my local area in the next month, and it's this coming Saturday. I have no plans this weekend as far as I know, but I *am* extremely ill :(

I know RPGA meets at Games & Gizmos in Redmond.

I wonder though, if you don't want to go to sanctioned events why do you want to be a sanctioned DM? Is there some benefit to it?

There sure is! Other than just the rights to tell everyone and anyone I know that I'm an RPGA Sanctioned Dungeon Master (which would give me some mad-phat geek cred), i would also be able to register all the members of my gaming group and receive nifty free crap from WotC for use in our monthly game night such as mini figures, books, promotional items and exclusive adventures that are part of a shared world experience through the RPGA website.

They're really pushing to try and make good old Pencil-n-Paper gaming a much more tangible experience than MMORPG's, and I'm fully willing to take full advantage of that :)

despite knowing little to nothing about d&d, i can run sanctioned events and request promotional material... because of how crazy i am with running m:tg stuff.

i think you gotta jump through hoops to get into gateway stuff. i'll look into seeing if i can get the stuff for your d&d group though.
