Rough draft of what I will be submitting to publishers. Thoughts/comments appreciated, thanks!

Having trouble stretching your collecting dollar? Afraid that it'll come down to a choice between that Limited Edition Star Trek Snow Globe or The Rent? Tired of eating your Hot Dog And Ramen Noodle Casserole 7 nights a week so you can afford the latest and greatest cross-over "Event" comics? I've lost far too many friends to these financial woes... friends I used to be able to depend on seeing at every convention who have now dropped out of collecting entirely because they feel that they just can't afford it any more, and it saddens me.

I'm here to prove that you don't have to spend like a drunken Texan in order to keep being a Geek. I am known far and wide for my ability to go in to the convention with as little as $20 and come out with two giant shopping bags overflowing full of comics, DVD's, toys, posters and other goodies. And we're not talking about garbage here... we're talking about quality items! Many of my techniques seemed pretty obvious to me, but you'd be surprised how many people are shocked and awed when I use my powers to get them great deals and great stuff.

In this article I will share with you my top Comic Book Convention Money-stretching secrets. Tons of tips and tricks for making your convention Dollar go further than you ever imagined. Not just getting the most FOR your money, but getting the most OUT OF your money. I'll detail what to look for at a convention and how to make the most of it. I'll give you The Secret List of items you should bring to every convention with you in order to maximize your potential. And in the end you'll be able to walk out of your next convention with your head held high knowing that not only can you pay The Rent, but that you got more out of this convention than 98% of the other attendees while paying less than most folks paid for parking!

I think it is a great idea for an article. I think it would be a better idea for a book. I don't know how many publishers would grab at it given the niche audience, but it could be something that if they don't pick it up you could self publish through lulu.com or someplace similar and sell yourself. The bonus of that is you keep way more of the money. The downside is that you have to market it yourself.

I would recommend it be filled with photographs and cartoons too.

I've been through the self publishing side of things before with Simian Publishing and Xanadu Games and if you are interested in a long list of things that could make it work, and what likely won't, let me know.

Make sure when you pitch you at least have the beginning of a full article to show them, to prove that you're not just all talk with this thing.

Thinking of turning it in to a series of YouTube clips if nobody bites... this information NEEDS to be out there!
