My Sister, Beth... the one I blame for all my hang-ups re: Drugs, Alcohol and/or pretty much all mind altering substances...

Beth is in jail right now for having shot her Boyfriend, Barry, at approximately 2:30 this morning. At point-blank range. While he was in bed. In the back.

Can't get much information since Beth is in Jail, and they don't consider "Brother of The Lady Who Shot The Patient" to be close enough of a family member to disclose any medical information about Barry. I heard that they've removed the bullet, at least...

I don't think Beth's coming to the family reunion this year... or any other year from now on. Unless we hold the reunion at The State Penitentiary.

No, he wasn't in the hospital at the time... they were in their own home.

Beth is... a very long story. 2 kids, but they're grown and gone and unwilling to be in her life because Beth is a habitual alcoholic/drug user.

She was on COPS once, even! If you ever see it, she's the chick who kicks the window out of the back of a police cruiser :)

She also lived with and dated one of the chief suspects in the Green River Killer case back during the height of The Green River Killer days... Thanksgiving was REALLY TENSE that year.

Obviously this is a crappy situation-- I've known folks who abuse dugs/alcohol, and it always seems to end with the person either their own bodies or ruining somebody elses. Hope she's able to learn something from such a terrible experience.
