3 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the cow... Mad Cow disease. 2 years ago, Chinese calendar year of the bird... Avian flu. This year, Chinese calendar year of the pig... Swine flu. Next year is the year of the cock...Anybody else worried?

I get it, but it's not funny to me because it's not consistent with what those years actually were. This year is ox. Last year was rat. The year before was pig. Next year is a tiger year. There is no 'bird' year other than the rooster. There's no need to mangle a calendar that has been in use since the second century B.C. to make a cock joke.

As someone who has done stand up comedy for reals, I have to disagree. Cock jokes are too easy, and it's dumb to go to so much effort to make one.

I wonder if that's ever actually worked? Telling somebody to just "let it go" and they go "Oh, you know what... even though I had been energetically and emphatically defending my viewpoint up till now, it took somebody condescendingly telling me to 'Let It Go' to make me see the error of my ways".
