Being awake at this ungood hour meant that I got to see the update on the ECCC Website early; two INCREDIBLE and COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED guest announcements! George Clayton Johnson, and Hal Sutherland!
Who dey?
Hal Sutherland... He's a CARTOON GAWD. One of the founders FILMATION, the studio that brought us most of my childhood (Masters of The Universe, Fat Albert, Star Trek cartoon, etc)... and that's really awesome and I can hardly wait to meet him... BUT...
GEORGE CLAYTON JOHNSON! HOKEY SMOKES!!! He... he's the really cool stner grandad that everybdy wishes they had! Wrote the original pilot for STAR TREK! Wrote classic episodes of TWILIGHT ZONE! Co-wrote LOGAN'S RUN! Counter-culture pop icon! From what I've heard, talking to him is like... it's like talking to a crazy homeless guy on the bus, and then realizing that the crazy homeless guy is actually really cool and you just want to keep listening to him make up stories and then all of a sudden you find out NO FRIGGIN' WAY ALL HIS STORIES ARE TRUE!!!!
Really, this just came out of nowhere and I don't know if i should even go to shake the mans hand because I just might get trapped in to listening to him for hours and hours and hours... a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, sure, but I've got a THE REST OF THE CONVENTION to do! He's one f those people who are just so... I can't... I think that meeting him just might make me cry, I admire him so much...
