So instead of continuing with the charade of "There's been another delay and you have to contact us within 24 hours or we'll assume you want to cancel your order", Dell decided to just go ahead and cancel the order for our Black Friday Netbook.

No e-mail, no phone call, just... it appears their strategy was to just let the NEW peojected delivery date come and go, and if anybody remembered that they had ordered a Netbook and not gotten it, they would then say "Oops! Sorry! Oh well."

It was pure chance that Crystal decided to call them up this evening and give them some hell about how long it was taking to receive our Netbook.

Also lucky that Crystal is TEH MASTER of getting what she wants... it took 2 hours of being transferred to various departments and gathering the personal information of each and every phone rep she spoke with, but they will now be sending us the next level up computer (better processor, bigger HD, WinXP, better screen) for the same price.

Because my wife ROCKS!

Of course, I fully expect that when she calls in tomorrow to get an update on the order, they will tell her that whoever promised her the Netbook was not authorized to make such a promise, and we'll be going down the exact same road again...
