FINANCIAL: Spent $15.17 on groceries today... 2 whole chickens, a pound of frozen peas and 5 Pounds of Butter. THAT should get me through the month, and at the end I can roll-over the remaining $4.83 in to next months grocery budget :)

CLEANLINESS: My cleaning hour got split between a hlf-hour this morning (Dishes, kitchen counters, straightening living room) and this evening (Attempting to tame the area around my desk known as "Daddy Land")

HEALTH: The hour at the gym was easy because of the cheap cheap CHEAP daycare there ($10 a month for up to 2 hours per day). And since we get the free Gold's Gym Membership through Crystal's work, why not? Just did the treadmill today because I wanted to take it easy, this being my first time back to the gym in three weeks (I was sick). Walked 2.63 miles, meaning that I only have to walk another 1,160.37 miles to DISNEYLAND! Yeah, I decided I'm gonna go through with the whole "Walking To Disneyland" thing again because THIS time I actually have the ability to calculate how far I've traveled! Last time I tried this was when I was walking laps around the Comcast parking lot, no real way to determine how far I'd actually gone... this is gonna be fun :)

FOOD FOR ME AND MY FAMILY: Just so you can see how I'm planning to afford this ridiculous $20-a-month budget...

BREAKFAST: Coffee for me (I shouldn't have skipped breakfast), Oatmeal for Crystal, 2 Hard-Boiled eggs, a fried egg, whole-grain toast and some grapes for Molly (she likes Eggs).

LUNCH: The last 1/4 of the Teddy's Bigger Burger that I'd been working on finishing all weekend long, Home-Made Cream Of Broccoli Soup and Spanikopita for Crystal, Power Bar and an Apple for Molly (weird, I know).

DINNER: Tacos using about 80% stuff I have gotten from The Gleaners. If you don't know who or what The Gleaners are, get to googling and find your local Gleaners *immediately*. It's really the nly way I can imagine affording this $20 a month, and I was able to make an excellent healthy meal with fresh tomatoes, onions, avacado, cabbage, Trader Joes "Whole" salsa (no preservatives) and corn tortillas that I paid NOTHING for. Only part of tonights dinner that we paid for was the hamburger, cheese and sour cream!

The nly down-side to The Gleaners is that you never know what you're gonna get... but if you're creative, that cna just be a fun extra challenge :)

Woah shiat! Where are the gleaners around here? I have a friend who does that way up in Mount Vernon which is too far for me to drive that often. I didn't even think to check for any in this area. Um, duh.

I have several friends in the area who could really use something like The Gleaners. Mostly Eastside, Bellevue, Bothell, Renton, Kirkland. Linky?

Not sure about a link... it was our Landlord who told us about it! Let's see...

...I have no links :( And Google is no help! I'll try to find out at the next Gleaners meeting on Thursday :)

Thanks! So many of my friends are out of work or barely scraping by with part-time or under the table work. If there's something good out there they can use, I want to let them know. :)

Its the "never-know-what-you're-gonna-get" thing that made me into the spectacular cook that I am. Of course it makes me totally crap at planning a menu...
