I *kind of* get how The Republicans feel right now, because I'm an old-skool Comics Fan.

We old timers, for the most part, don't like the new comics that are out there much at all. Obama and The Affordable Health Care Act? Their Dan Didio and the "New 52 DCU" - a terrible new version of things that we've always loved and invested in, a terrible new version that we think ruins the entire legacy of what's come before. Most of us are willing to just take it, buying our comics month after month, maybe dropping a bunch of titles, maybe just switching over to back-issues only... and then we have our extremely vocal nut-jobs who will rant on and on about how this is the fall of the entire comics industry and legacy! They demand the head of Dan Didio on a pike! WE MUST PUT AN END TO THESE TERRIBLE COMICS AND RETURN TO OUR ROOTS!!!

But the numbers don't lie. Sales at DC Comics are up - WAY UP. The people have spoken, they really *do* like their comics like this! Despite how much I hate them and think that they're ruining what was once a great and noble hobby, they're what the people want these days.

Which is why, of course, the next logical step is for me to go find a way to shut down DC comics till they give in to - I'm sorry, "Negotiate" - things the way I want them to be.

I know this is peripheral to your point, but the New52 of Wonder Woman is surprisingly good. Her reboot feels more like an old story than the old story did.

Yeh, and many Republicans will admit that parts of the Affordable Health Care Act are good and needed changes :)

There are bits of the New 52 that are pretty good, but I have no use for any of it. I've tried and tried again to get in to the New 52 stuff, it just doesn't click for me. I don't like current writing styles, I don't like current artistic trends, I don't like... no, that's not right. It's not that I DON'T LIKE this stuff, it's that I prefer classic comic styles, and seeing the new stuff just reminds me that the stuff I prefer is preferable to me :)

Hehe, amusingly stated and true. Nevertheless, as a mythology buff, the new WW is like crack to me. Will the affordable care act give me that?

That is surprisingly appropriate. XD

Marvel has been releasing some of their older comics digitally and making them freely available. It's not a lot, but some, and they're pretty good.

And if you're looking for something new and interesting, check out All-New X-Men. If I find #1 (I know it's sitting around here somewhere!) I'll lend you the first 7 issues.

Sadly, for the Republicans, the Comic Code Authority, is no longer a recognized power. Strange, new truths are being introduced to the public, without the approval of the old guard. Life goes on.
