I had heard or read somewhere that Dogs use their sense of smell a lot in the same way that Humans may use The Internet - They sniff it out, and if the scent interests them they "click through" to zero in on it and find more information. Kind of like how you may start a Google search for Oatmeal Recipes and somehow end up on the Wikipedia page that lists every episode of Welcome Back Kotter.
That was Step 1.
So it's easy to assume that different scents could be equated to different websites; The Fire Hydrant on the corner is Twitter where all your friends have updated their status, The Pet Store is Facebook full of some information but mostly targeted advertising... the more frequently a dog sniffs it, the bigger the website.
That was Step 2.
What do dogs sniff the most out of instinct and habit? Each others rumps. What website do we all end up clicking through to at least once or twice a day out of instinct and habit (and manipulatively worded headlines)? Buzzfeed.
That was Step 3.
Buttsfeed.
That was Step 4.
"Who's a good dog? The answer will shock you!"
"One weird trick to figuring out where the ball went (HINT: Your human may not be telling the whole truth about having thrown it!)"
"From a Whimper to a Bark - 7 Life Hacks to help you alert your human about squirrels in your yard even faster!"
"You won't believe what The Vet did with this poor dog's testicles!"
That was Step 5.
