For all those Harry Potter fans on my Friends List, I give you the answer to that age-old hypothetical question:

WHAT IF INSTEAD OF BEING A BLOCKBUSTER STRING OF BOOKS AND MOVIES, THE HARRY POTTER STORY HAD BEEN A LOW-RES 3-MINUTE MUSICAL DANCE NUMBER SET IN THE 80'S?

And now we know. Oh, and yes it's work-safe.

Actually, i was quite impressed by the video! I'd love to see it performed live :)

When did the Ultimate Band List (http://www.ubl.com) become so much less than Ultimate? Matter of fact, I would have to say that it is anything BUT ultimate now! Used to be you could type in a word and get results showing every song with that word in it, every band with that word in their title, and every album that word is associated with. It was an indispensible part of my web experience!

Now?

Now it seems to have changed in to a site fo promoting unsigned bands.

THIS DOES NOT HELP ME IN MY QUEST!!!

Oh, my quest? There was a series of maybe three or 4 albums back in the early 90's that I owned with punk and/or alternative covers of lots of mellow 70's tunes. I remember very few details:
  • It had a long smarmy name like "Super 70's Mellow Hits Explosion".
  • It was main-stream enough to be available through either BMG or Columbia house music club.
  • I can only remember the cover versions of "Hot Child In the City", "Macarthur Park" and "Seasons In The Sun"
  • It was my first taste of a band called the Day-Glo Abortions.

All other information such as other tracks, other artists, the company tht published it... not a clue.

Now if UBL were still actually "U", I could just type in a search for Dayglo Abortions and see every album they've ever contributed to! But unfortunately all I can find now is a website with lots of broken links and old blog posts from '99 tlking about how cool their new (and supposedly last) album was.
