All morning long I've been thinking about what it would sound like for Carol Channing to say "Well I'll just go ahead and eat some cat food!"

Dear LORD it's making me giggle uncontrollably!!!

Molly and The Cats are looking at me funny every time I say it.

(If you have no idea who Carol Channing is or why this sounds so damn hillarious, use you sme YouTubes to find out)

New Place?

[livejournal.com profile] khristle and I are at odds regarding this new place we looked at last night.

Long story short: We have till November 10th to decide if we're moving or staying. Going month-by-month here is not an option, as the rent on what WAS an $850 apartment would then go up to $1200. Signing a lease would take it down to $940, which would then be raised next time we sign a lease. Considering the amount of larger and/or better places we can get for that type of money, we're officially in a mad scramble to find a new place that will take cats, will allow for our craptastic credit and isn't more than maybe 20 minutes away from her work.

SO! Last night we looked at a Double-wide trailer in Bothell. it's in a Mobile Home Community where all the land is OWNED (as opposed to the usual park where you rent the lot you put your trailer on). It's an older late 60's/early 70's trailer that has been slowly upgraded through the years, but just barely.

It's in EXCELLENT condition.

No pet deposit.

Our excellent rental history impressed the owner and we wouldn't have to go through a credit check.

He's VERY open to a Lease-To-Own situation.

It's 2 MINUTES from Crystal's work.

We'd have a back yard, front yard, side yard and patio. Plus, covered parking.

We can move in by December 1st.

Personally, I love the place. And unfortunately, Crystal hates it :( Lots of little stuff like the fact that it still smells like the old tennants (who moved out a week ago, carpets have not yet been cleaned). The bathrooms are tiny. The Master Bathroom is too open. The built-in Buffet and curio cabinet are too dark. And she can't think of where we would put the cat boxes.

Concerns that we BOTH have include the fact that we would have to pay Water/Sewer/Garbage and that there don't seem to be any parks as close as they were here in our current apartment (one right outside our window and 5 more within walking distance).

It's been long enough. I can bitch about them now.

COMCAST SALES DEPARTMENT IS THE MOST WORTHLESS COLLECTION OF PEOPLE IN ALL OF WASHINGTON STATE!!!!

I called because we may be moving at the end of the month, wanted to know if there were any deals going on for transfer of service. Hi, we're moving and want service at the new place on December 1st, are there any types of deals or promotions I should know about?

"I really couldn't tell you, sir."

Oh. Okay then... is there anybody there that *would* know if there are any current promotions or deals going on for transfer of service?

"Well, there's like... there's a $10 fee to transfer service? Is that what you're talking about?"

No. See, you're The Cable Company. occasionally, you'll have special deals or promotions going on for new customers and upgrades in service and such. Like remember when you were giving away Nintendo Wii for new subscribers of Triple-Play? or free installation? Or $12 service for 3 months? Stuff like that. Do you have any such things going on right now?

"Transfer of service is $10, but really sir I couldn't tell you what deals we will have as of December 1st when you would be moving".

I KNOW! I don't want to know about the deals for AFTER I've moved... i want to know about the deals NOW. I want to schedule this NOW, what deals would we be able to get RIGHT NOW.

"If you're not moving till the end of the month, I'd suggest that you call after then to schedule a - "

AAAAAAARGH!!!

Okay, this is all theoretical here but let me know if you think it works from a Comcast perspective...

What I'm trying to do is get all the New Connect deals while still retaining my old e-mail addresses.

First, I go and subscribe to a Digital Cable and HSI package, whatever gets me the best deal (hoping for free install and maybe $20 a month for my first 6 months? Something like that?) and schedule install for as close to December 1st as possible. I tell them it's brand-new service, not an Xfer of services. The tech leaves me a SIK, I do the install and xfer my e-mail accounts over to the new address. As soon as accounts are Xfered, i *physically* take the old cable modem back to a Comcast Store and cancel service at my old address.

I know there's got to be a glitch I'm forgetting about... why wouldn't that work?

Wait, i think I remember... You can't xfer e-mail accounts from an active account! GRRRRR!!!

Okay, how about this... I seem to remember that there was a way to transfer secondary e-mails off of an account, like if a room mate moved out or something and wanted to establish his own account elsewhere with the same e-mail?
