After a fairly disastrous misfire last week that spread to engulf the entire weekend, Operation: Disney Diet is ready to roll as of RIGHT NOW!

As was established and then thwarted last week by an ill-timed delivery of Ball Reicht Potato Chips from Ohio (CURSE YOU DELICIOUS REGIONAL OFFERINGS), the plan is:

-One Half-Hour to an Hour of exercise at the YMCA daily for 5 days a week, to be tracked here on LJ.

-On days that a trip to the YMCA is not an option, a brisk 20-minute walk or 3 dances on the Wii game "Just Dance" may be substituted.

-Seven Servings of fruits and vegetables per day.

-Dietary weight loss via Weight Watchers "Points Plus" system.

-Weekly weigh-in to track loss, currently 360 Pounds (a weight gain of almost 50 pounds since my Dad died in December).

-Back to the Unf*ck Your Habitat routine of two 20/10's or one 45/15 of cleaning per day at minimum.

PART I: If we were to allow her to do so, Molly would eat nothing but Otter Pops for every meal. This is why we had to make some rules:
  • No asking for Otter Pops before Noon
  • No more than three Otter Pops per day

Pretty easy, but it doesn't stop her from asking for additional Otter Pops ALL. DAY. LONG. Always trying to weasel out an extra Pop here and there - "Hey Daddy, isn't it HOT today? Want me to get us an Otter Pop or two?" Always angling for another fix of frozen colored sugar water. ALWAYS.

PART II: On the last day of school, Molly was given a Handwriting Practice Book to work on during the summer, in order to make sure she didn't lose any of the progress made in her writing skills and to prepare her for the Third Grade. She has so far REFUSED to even OPEN the book, because her teacher had told her "You don't HAVE to do this, but it's a really good idea to work in this book over the summer to keep your skills nice and sharp and blah blah blah" - but Molly tuned out after the "You don't have to do this, but" part. We've begged, we've pleaded, we've tried to make it a fun game... no can do. Teacher said she didn't have to do it, and so she will not do it.

PART III: Crystal came up with the idea of mashing the first two parts together. And so as part of the negotiations, a compromise was reached; all previous rules regarding Otter Pops have been deleted, and replaced with this single rule:
  • Molly may have one Otter Pop for each page of her Workbook that she completes correctly

This may have been a BIG mistake. Despite having spent all night last night on the verge of TEARS over this new rule because we simply COULD NOT seem to comprehend that her Teacher had said she didn't HAVE to do it, she has already had FOUR Otter Pops today.

But her handwriting is steadily improving :)
