Y'know that feeling of, like, when you haven't seen a really close friend in a long time because they moved away or you moved away or something, and then you reconnect on The Internet and decide to get together, and when they come over they brought their significant other with them, and the significant other is really hot and tries really hard to fit in but you and your old friend just have so many inside jokes and stuff but your old friend seems restrained and/or different because the significant other is around and they don't want to make their sweetheart feel uncomfortable so it's really awkward and you keep looking for a way to get out of the whole thing, but then the significant other goes out to, like, the store to get more chips or something and your buddy and you fall back into your comfort zone and it's great so you decide to just go with it and so you bust out an old game and start playing it with your old friend and then the significant other comes back with more chips and you all play together and it's kind of awkward but you decide to just roll with it because you missed your old friend so much that you're willing to put up with the awkwardness of the situation just so you can feel some sort of connection to those good feelings that you only got brief glimpses of during this visit?

THAT'S what Michael Bay does to beloved 80's cartoons. He's done it so often, there should really be a word for it by now :(

Being a seller on Ebay, it's really easy to get screwed :(

Before Christmas, I sold a cute little Mickey Mouse stuffed animal that still had the tags from Disneyland which said it was originally $25. I started the bidding at $1.99 and included a dozen pictures from every angle, with a ruler in the picture for scale and a detailed description of the item.

In the description, I stated "No returns, so please be sure to ask any questions before you place your bid". I chose the official Ebay Seller Form Option that expressly says "No Returns Accepted".

Somebody in Iowa got the high bit of $2.25 (an excellent deal), paid me via PayPal, and THEN several days later (after the item had been shipped) emailed me to say "I thought the shipping was free, please cancel my order." I emailed her and said that I was sorry, it was too late, the order had already shipped.

She then sent me a series of threatening messages, all via Ebay, stating that she would leave negative feedback, contact the Better Business Bureau, take me to court, etc - all over $2.25. I finally got across to her that I could not cancel the order BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY SHIPPED, so then she insisted that I allow her to return the item (at my cost) for a full refund of the purchase price and shipping cost.

I said no, citing my supposedly Ebay-sanctioned-and-ratified "No Returns" policy.

She then said that she would tell Ebay she never received the item. I told her that I had paid for tracking and that the item was delivered two days ago.

She said that she would tell Ebay that the item was not as described. I asked her how, exactly, the item was not as I had described it. She then stopped communicating with me.

The next day, I received notification that Ebay had gone ahead and removed the funds from my account to refund the customer her entire order and that she gets to keep the item as well.

tl;dr - If you want something for free off of Ebay, just submit a complaint. The seller won't get to say anything about it.
