The new shift started last night (3:15pm till 11:45pm) and I'm *really* trying to like my new Supervisor but it's just not working. He's one of those guys that you just *know* was told by upper management to "dress a bit more casual" and it just makes him itch. He's a Fox News kind of guy. All day long he kept telling me (jokingly?) that he has his eye on me; he is the supervisor who confronted my OLD supervisor with his concerns about how much time I spend out of my seat. Dude, I had to go to the BATHROOM! You can either give me 5 minutes off the phone to go tinkle, or you can buy me new pants. Choice is yours! And he really is on me like a hawk... I went off the phone to wrap-up some paperwork at the end of a call, and decided to change the channel on the TV at the same time. As I picked up the remote, he was just suddenly THERE, with a "Hey big guy, whatcha up to? I noticed that you're not on the phones. Let's get back on there, okay?"

Drive me friggin NUTS! But, it's only 6 months at the most till our next shift reallignment and I can get someone else.

Don't get me wrong... I still love the job! I just don't like my current supervisor is all.

Well give us a call and we'll get you hooked up! (888) COMCAST! I'm not in sales or anything, but I think you can get set up with the standard Digital cable (gets you all the OnDemand stuff and all the non-premium channels) for around $40 a month?

SWEET! Then I'll keep you up-to-date on all the really GOOD free stuff, and let you know when movie channels go on special. With just a WEEK of having "STARZ!", you could fill up fifty gazillion video tapes!

Best part about the "Premium" channels is that you can get it for just a night or two, and only have to pay for the two nights you had it. So! When they do something silly like put the entire first season of Carnivalle (the bestest weird/creepy show since Twin Peaks) on-demand I can tell you about it, you can get HBO for a day or two, record it and enjoy!

From now on, if you have any questions about your cable, think of me as your personal "Google"!

Sweet! Please definitely do that. Dude didn't get the change on my order to hook up the digital, so I did that today.
How does ordering hbo or whatever for a day work then? i just call and they hook me up that day then I call and say this sucks turn it off?

Nah, it's not even that difficult. Just call at night (like after 9pm) when you ask to have it added on, then do the same (after 9pm) when you want to take it off. Do it after 9 because that's well after the "Retention" department is closed (the people who will ask you "Why didn't you like it? Would you like to try a different service? How about if we discounted it?) and the Repair Department (me) will be happy to take the services off your account quickly and with no questions in order to lower our Average Handle Time with a nice 2-minute phone call. The addition and/or subtraction of services, thanks to the Digital cabe box, is almost instantaneous.

Now, if you feel a bit uncomfortable with this, you might want to call them up and play all innocent with your questions. "I'm thinking about adding HBO to my account, but what do I do if I don't like it? Can I jut cancel it at any time? Will I be charged for a whole month?" Don't be confrontational; avoid sayng "Well this guy on the internet told me I could get it for just a day so that's all I want to do is just one day".

Also, don't do it more than like once every few months or so. And do lots of swapping, too. Keep HBo fr a week, then call and say you want to try Showtime out. Then you want to try Starz, then Cinemax, etc. You never know when the rules might change, and having an actual history of indecisiveness will help to cover your tracks.
