Xmas Loot Post #2
Dec. 25th, 2005 10:24 amCHRISTMAS MORNING: Superman II, III and IV so I now have the complete original Trillogy! Or Quadrology! Or whatever you call it! Oh, I know... SAGA! I now own the entire Superman Saga on DVD! This is great because it's been FOREVER since I've seen parts III and IV. They can't POSSIBLY be as corny as I remember, can they?
Also, The Rocketeer on DVD. The Rocketeer is a bit of a mad obsession with me because (a) Dave Stevens is my favoritist comic creator/arteest of the 80's who has since completely dissapeared, and (b) IT'S AIRPLANES AND ZEPLINS AND ROCKETS AND NAZIS!!! How can you not love that concept?!? Oh, and discovered a Geekarma Loop (wherein several seemingly non-related geek interests meld as one) in the movie! In The Rocketeer (geek point "A") the character of Howard Hughes (geek point "B") is played by Terry O'Quinn, the man who plays the creepy I-couldn't-walk-but-now-I-can-and-I'm-a-hunter-dude character of "Locke" on Lost (geek point "C"). And of course, Locke was almost killed by a wrecked jet engine in the pilot episode of Lost, which brings us right back to Geek Point "A", The Rocketeer.
And rounding out the DVD goodness was of course Batman Begins: Special Edition. Heads would have rolled had I not gotten this DVD, so Christmas has been SAVED once again! Soon to be a Rankin Bass Puppet-Animated Christmas Special: "The Christmas That Almost Got Cancelled When Brian Went Bitch-Cakes on Everybody 'Cuz He Didn't Get Batman Begins"!
Moving on to the Toys category now, they all pretty much speak for themselves; Marvel Legends Professor X, Marvel Legends Mr. Sinister and Vintage Reproduction GI Joe Airforce Pilot With Fire Fighting Accessory Kit. All wonderful and welcome additions to my ongoing collections!
The Stocking contained but two items this year because everything else was just too big! A set of Mini-Mates (Spider-Man and Carnage) and perhaps THE BEST OF THE BESTEST that I have gotten this year (well, other than the Serenity book fom last night), HOME MADE UNDERWEAR!!! That's right! My darling
khristle can now make me custom boxer shorts from any material I like! Right now I am wearing a pair of wild Hawaiian Print boxers that fit me just perfectly and look quite snazzy!
That's all for now... time to drive up to The Parents and spend quality time ith them on this day. Merry Xmas to all y'all!
